16. Autumn/Winter 2012

September 18th, 2012 · Comments

As a fairly low key (Dark Knights and Avengers aside) summer draws to a close, Joe and Ed look forward to the back end of 2012, where a thrilling mix of Oscar baiting nonsense, blockbusters and indie flicks all fight for their attention. Away from the silver screen, the boys also have a look at the best of what US TV has to offer, most notably the mouth watering proposition of NBC's Fall comedy schedule.

As usual, listen, enjoy, rate and review!

15. Directors

September 12th, 2012 · Comments

This week, Joe and Ed find themselves talking about Directors, who are apparently quite important in films. They start with a brief history of directing through the ages, then talk about depictions of directors on film before wrapping things up with a cracking top ten list of directors who, for various reasons, have only directed one film. Of course, no-one listens to Shot/Reverse Shot to learn anything, they listen for the tangents, of which there a plenty, including the boys uncovering of a conspiracy in which Drew Barrymore assassinates President Obama, reveal that a janitor actually directed Rio Bravo and wonder if Chinatown really should have been called Bad Dad.

Also, this episode sees the debut of a TRULY AMAZING new top ten jingle.

As always, listen, enjoy, rate and review!

14. Breaking Bad - Season 5

September 4th, 2012 · Comments

As the first half of the last season of the Greatest Show On TV airs, Joe and Ed discuss the ins and outs of Breaking Bad, Season 5. Whilst revelling in it's moral complexity, narrative unpredictability and cinematic brio, the boys can't help but try and speculate as to just what will happen next. There's some waffle of course, including Ed's scandalous accusation of how Joe makes his living and some speculation about who really came up with the 'Better Call Saul' strapline.

As always, listen, enjoy, rate and review!
